Discover a whole new level of learning by enjoying course videos on your TV with Airplay and Google Cast.

What are AirPlay and Google Cast, and why are they useful?
AirPlay and Google Cast are features that allow you to share the courses from your device to your Smart TV. That means you can watch lessons and sequences on your big screen!

Unlike screen mirroring, which mirrors everything on your device, screencasting only projects the video content to your Smart TV. So, feel free to use your device while the video plays on the big screen! Just remember, once the video is cast on the Smart TV, it won’t be visible on your device.

AirPlay and Google Cast Comparison:
AirPlay is exclusively available for Apple products (iPhone, iPad, Mac) and allows streaming to Apple TVs.
Google Cast works with any smartphone and can be used to cast content to any Google Smart TV with Chromecast Built-In.

What do I need to preview course videos on my Smart TV?
Make sure both the device you are casting from and your Smart TV are connected to the same WiFi network.
For Android Smart TVs only, ensure that the Chromecast Built-In (Google Cast Receiver) is enabled on your Smart TV. Visit this article for activation instructions.

Important Notes:
• Some Smart TVs, like Samsung and LG, do not come with Chromecast Built-In. In this case, you’ll need to use a physical Chromecast device and connect it to your TV’s HDMI port.
• Use the standard Google/Android Chromecast HDMI device, not Miracast.

How do I use AirPlay or Google Cast?

To stream from iPhone or MacBook to Apple TV (AirPlay):

  1. Go to the course, lesson, or sequence video you want to watch.
  2. Tap on the Cast Icon in the bottom right corner of the video.
  3. Select AirPlay.
  4. Choose the Apple TV you want to use.
  5. Once the Cast icon changes color, you’re successfully connected.
  6. To stop casting: Tap the Cast Icon again and switch back to your iPhone.

To stream from Android to Google/Android Smart TV:

  1. Go to the course, lesson, or sequence video you want to watch.
  2. Tap on the Cast Icon in the bottom right corner of the video.
  3. Select Google Cast.
  4. Choose the Smart TV you want to use.
  5. Once the Cast icon changes color, you’re successfully connected.
  6. To stop casting: Tap the Cast Icon again and disconnect.

To stream from Web App to Google/Android Smart TV:

  1. Go to the course, lesson, or sequence video you want to watch.
  2. Tap on the Cast Icon in the bottom right corner of the video.
  3. Select Google Cast.
  4. Choose the Smart TV you want to use.
  5. Once the Cast icon changes color, you’re successfully connected.
  6. To stop casting: Tap the Cast Icon and disconnect.

To stream from Web App to Apple TV (AirPlay):

  1. Go to the course, lesson, or sequence video you want to watch.
  2. Tap on the Cast Icon in the bottom right corner of the video.
  3. Choose the Apple TV you want to use.
  4. Once the Cast icon changes color, you’re successfully connected.
  5. To stop casting: Tap the Cast Icon and unmark the Apple TV.

Is screencasting available for all types of videos on my app?
Screencasting works smoothly for videos uploaded directly to the app but not for YouTube or Vimeo links.

Trouble playing course videos on your TV? Here’s what to do:

  1. Check your WiFi connection: Make sure both devices are connected to the same WiFi network.
  2. Reconnect devices: Disconnect and reconnect both devices from the WiFi network.
  3. Restart both devices and WiFi router.
  4. Update operating systems: Make sure both devices are running the latest OS version.
  5. Test with another app: Try screencasting from YouTube or Netflix to check if the issue is app-specific.

For Android Smart TVs:
Compatibility check: Verify that your device supports Google Cast and that the Google Cast Receiver app is enabled on your Smart TV.

For Passion Web App:
Browser update: Ensure you are using the latest version of your browser.

What if I can’t find the Chromecast Built-In App on my Smart TV?
Some Smart TVs, like Samsung, may not have Chromecast Built-In. In this case, use a Chromecast device that physically connects to your TV via the HDMI port.

How can I check if my TV has Chromecast built-in?

  1. Press the HOME button on your remote control.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Apps → See all apps → Show system apps → Google Chromecast Built-In → Enable.
  4. If it’s not available, check the Disabled apps section and enable it.

Will Miracast work if my Smart TV doesn’t have Chromecast?
Currently, we do not support Miracast for screencasting. We are working on adding it in the future.

Is Screencasting from Passion Web App available in all browsers?
Google Cast works on Google Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Ensure you are using the latest version of your browser for the best experience.
Safari only supports AirPlay.

Common Issues

Here’s a guide to help you resolve issues with the hearing impairment information:

  • Missing Text: If you encounter issues with hearing impairments information not displaying while using the app, please note that this may be a technical glitch.
  • Use Website Alternative: In such cases, we recommend switching to the website version of the course, where the content should be accessible and fully operational.
  • Outline File Access: The outline file version of the course may be in PDF format.
    • Adobe Acrobat Needed: To view the outline file properly, you might need to download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader.
    • Download Adobe Acrobat: If you don’t have it installed already, you can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free from the official Adobe website.
  • Support: If you continue to face issues, please reach out for support to ensure you have the information you need.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you reset your password:

  • As you try to Log In, click on Forgot Password.
  • Enter your account’s email address.
  • Check your email for a “Change My Password” link.
  • Click the link or copy and paste it into your browser.
  • As you set your account password, make sure to type your new password twice identically. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long.
  • Click on Save Password when you are done.
  • Now go back to the app and log in using your email and the new password
  • If you’ve already created an account and have an active subscription, please make sure you click LOGIN.
  • If you’re logged in correctly, have an active subscription, but still can’t access the content, verify that you’re using the same email address used to purchase the subscription.
  • Apple Users: Ensure you signed up using your personal email, not the Private Relay email (Hide My Email option)
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi or Mobile Data connection is strong.
  • If issues persist:
    • Close the app from the background and check for updates.
    • Log out and log back in.
    • Reinstall the app if necessary.
  • If the problem continues, please contact our Support Team for assistance

To adjust text size for better readability:

  • Ensure “Text Size” is in your Control Center:
    • Swipe from the upper-right corner and check if it’s there.
    • If not, go to Settings > Control Center.
    • Under the “More Controls” section, find “Text Size” and tap the plus sign to add it to your included controls. This will add it to Control Center.

Once added, follow these steps to tweak the text size for each app:

  • Open the app, access Control Center, and tap the “Text Size” icon (with small and large A’s).
  • Move the toggle to the left for this app.
  • Use the main control to set text size, then tap anywhere to return to the app. The change will apply only to this app, not others

Basic Troubleshooting

Update Device Software:
Keep your smartphone or computer updated with the latest software version. Use the links below to ensure you have the most up-to-date software for the best performance:

  • iOS
  • Android
  • MacBook
  • Windows

Update Chrome for Windows:

  1. Click on the 3 dots in the top right corner of any Chrome tab.
  2. Scroll down to Help.
  3. Click on About Google Chrome.
  4. Chrome will take you to a new tab showing whether you have the latest version or not.
  5. After the update is done, it is a must to Relaunch Chrome. Click on Relaunch to open a brand new Chrome session with the new version.

Update Firefox for Windows:

  1. Click on the 3 dashes in the top right corner of any Firefox tab.
  2. Scroll down to Help.
  3. From the menu, select About Firefox.
  4. Firefox will display a pop-up banner showing whether you have the latest version or not.
  5. If not, the update will start automatically.
  6. After the update is done, it is a must to Relaunch Firefox. Click on Relaunch or close Firefox and reopen it to start a new session with the updated version.

Make sure you have the latest Passion Lo App version. We are currently on version build L.EX. Below are the steps to check the version you have on your device:

For iOS:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
  2. Select Phone Storage.
  3. Wait a moment, and the screen will populate with storage status for each of your installed apps.
  4. Tap the app you want to see the version number for.
  5. Scroll down to find the app name, and you will see the version number.

For Android:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Apps or Application Manager.
  3. You will see all the apps installed on your device.
  4. Tap the app whose version number you are looking for.
  5. On the App Info page, the version number will appear below the app name.

Update if Necessary:
If you cannot update the app, please uninstall and download it again. Make sure you log in using the correct credentials; you can check them in the Profile Tab.

  1. Go to the web app YOUR-APP-NAME.passion.io
  2. Sign in using your email and password
  3. Click on your Account in the top right corner (you will see your photo if you uploaded one)
  4. Click on Settings
  5. Click on Manage Your Plans under Subscription & Payments
  6. Click on the subscription you would like to cancel
  7. Click on Cancel Subscription.
